COVID-19: 6 patients die, 524 test positive in J&K | KNO

Total cases 97,724, 1,517 deaths; recovery rate over 92 percent in UT*

Srinagar, Nov 05 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Thursday recorded nine Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,517 in the Union Territory while 524 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 97,224. Of the total 97,224 cases, 58,564 are from Kashmir and 38,660 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 524 new cases, 339 belong to Kashmir division while as 185 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 58,564 including 53,381 recoveries and 1,005 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 38,660 including 36,524 recoveries and 512 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,802 including 4,178 from Kashmir division and 1,624 from Jammu division. With 651 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 89,905 which is 92.47 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 155 from Srinagar, 38 from Budgam, 54 from Baramulla, 08 from Pulwama, 26 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 23 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 15 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 185 from Jammu division include 99 from Jammu, 09 from Rajouri, 09 from Udhampur, 10 from Doda, 10 from Kuthua, 05 from Poonch, 04 from Samba, 19 from Kishtiwar, 11 from Ramban and 09 from Reasi," officials disclosed. Notably, in the last 24 hours six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division. As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar and one from Anantnag in Kashmir division while two deaths from Jammu division include one each from Jammu and Ramban. As per officials figures, 19,990 positive cases including 370 deaths and 18,286 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,162 including 94 deaths and 5,792 recoveries are from Budgam, 6,333 including 4,962 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,732 including 4,470 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,576 including 73 deaths and 4,101 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,274 including 4,024 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,102 cases including 3,884 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,646 including 3,389 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,504 including 2,373 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,245 including 2,100 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 18,087 including 17,157 recoveries and 265 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,232 including 3,110 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,764 including 2,596 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,690 including 2,558 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Doda, 2,489 including 2,408 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,275 including 2,145 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,197 including 1,947 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,986 including 1,853 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,638 including 1,552 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Ramban and 1,302 including 1,198 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin, 664,234 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,155 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,802 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 596,998 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,762 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,414,248 samples are available. Out of 2,414,248 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,317,024 while as 97,224 have tested positive, among them 5,802 are active, 89,905 persons have recovered and 1,517 persons have died—(KNO)
